Biometrica Privacy Policies
At Biometrica Systems, Inc., protecting privacy and civil liberties is at the core of everything we do. This Biometric Data Policy explains Biometrica’s approach to the use, handling, and protection of biometric-related processes and clarifies what Biometrica does — and importantly, what it does not do — when working with biometric technology.
We are not a facial recognition company and have no direct access to biometric templates or biometric identifiers. However, we are committed to complying with or exceeding all applicable laws and regulations governing the responsible use of biometric data, including but not limited to:
- The Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA)
- The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
- The UK Data Protection Act (DPA)
- The Canadian Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial laws (e.g., Quebec’s Law 25)
- The Australian Privacy Act
- The New Zealand Privacy Act 2020
- The EU Artificial Intelligence Act (for AI-based systems)
- Other jurisdictional U.S. laws relating to the use of biometric data
trica Systems is committed to safeguarding data by applying the principles of data minimization, privacy by design, and lawful public safety use. This policy outlines how we collect, retain, protect, and, where applicable, delete data processed through Biometrica’s platforms, products, and services globally.
This policy is designed to comply with:
- U.S. Federal and State privacy and biometric laws (including but not limited to BIPA, CPRA, VCDPA, and others)
- GDPR (EU and UK)
- Canada’s PIPEDA and Quebec Law 25
- Australia and New Zealand Privacy Acts
- The European Union Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act)
- FCRA (U.S. Fair Credit Reporting Act) for applicable products
Biometrica Systems, Inc. integrates limited forms of Artificial Intelligence (AI) exclusively to support public safety, victim recovery, and investigatory efforts. Our use of AI is designed around privacy, human oversight, and compliance with applicable international, federal, and state laws and regulatory frameworks.
We do not deploy or utilize:
- Generative AI
- Predictive policing models
- Mass surveillance technologies
- Automated decision-making without human review
Biometrica’s AI use is strictly agentic and subject to strong, documented privacy and ethics safeguards.
t Biometrica, we believe protecting people and protecting privacy are not in conflict. We built our systems around the core belief that public safety should never require mass surveillance or the sacrifice of civil liberties.
Every solution we have — from our real-time threat and victim identification systems to our law enforcement database — is designed to work without recording, transmitting, accessing, or retaining biometric data. We do not, and will not, conduct mass surveillance.
Our mission is simple:
- Protect communities from real threats in real-time.
- Help recover victims, including missing children and vulnerable adults.
- Do it without creating a surveillance state.
When we started to work on this overview, we decided we needed to answer one basic question first: How Do Face Recognition Systems Work?

Biometrica Systems, Inc. operates fully in compliance with Canadian privacy and data protection laws. While Canada does not have a unified national data protection law, applicable federal, provincial, and municipal regulations govern the collection and use of personal and biometric information. Biometrica’s privacy-by-design architecture, human-in-the-loop process, and partnership model ensure compliance across jurisdictions.
Australia’s privacy framework is governed primarily by the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Additional sectoral laws, including those for law enforcement and national security, apply to specialized contexts such as biometrics and surveillance. Biometrica’s design — focused on privacy-by-design, human-in-the-loop processes, and non-retention of biometric data — aligns with Australia’s regulatory expectations.Australia’s privacy framework is governed primarily by the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). The Act governs the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information by agencies in New Zealand, including private organizations. Biometrica’s commitment to privacy-by-design, absence of biometric retention, and human-in-the-loop verification ensure strong alignment with New Zealand’s privacy and public safety frameworks.
