Beyond Background Checks.

Without Invasive Surveillance.

With Explicit Consent.

eMotive transforms the traditional background check into a privacy-first, ongoing safety net — for the people you employ and the communities they serve.

It takes a single point-in-time criminal background check, typically done at the point of hire, and turns it into a continuous alert system.

FCRA-compliant

Explicit-consent-based

Focused solely on new, relevant criminal activity based on law enforcement data only, after an initial lookback scope.

Designed to protect employee privacy while improving public safety

Biometrica holds the U.S. patent for:

“System and Method for Continuous Biometric Monitoring”

This patented innovation allows organizations to:

  • Monitor employees or contractors in safety-sensitive roles
  • Receive real-time alerts on relevant arrests or bookings
  • Do so without transmitting, storing or accessing biometric templates, biometric identifiers, or video footage

eMotive in Action

Watch how eMotive transforms static background checks into real-time, privacy-first alerts from a child protection standpoint.

Privacy by Design

  • No mass surveillance

  • No video captured or retained

  • No biometric libraries

  • No access, storage, transmission, or retention of biometric templates or identifiers

  • All matching is performed by a third-party, NIST-approved provider in an isolated, black box environment

  • No access to employee data by Biometrica personnel. Private to HR or Compliance personnel in a credentialed organization

FCRA-Compliant & Consent-Based

  • Explicit written consent to conduct a background check is required from every monitored individual in a client organization, as required by law.

  • A client organization will need to certify, in writing, to Biometrica that they have received explicit, written consent from their employees or contractors prior to enrolling them in eMotive.

  • eMotive is used only for legally permissible purposes under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and applicable jurisdictional laws.

  • Employers define relevance thresholds in all cases, for every notification received. Biometrica does not access employee data or notifications of a match to a law enforcement event.

  • Every client agrees to specific use-case limitations as outlined in Biometrica’s Terms and Conditions Agreement.

How It Works

After the initial lookback scope, you are notified only if a new, relevant law enforcement event is detected.

Human Oversight Is Essential

Human review is mandatory for all Biometrica’s solutions to ensure algorithmic accountability and fairness.

Upon receipt of the alert, a credentialed client representative will have to first confirm the alert and then decide whether it is relevant to the job an employee does, and business necessity before implementing organizational protocols.
