AI Usage Statement (GDPR, UK DPA, AI Act Compliant)

Biometrica Systems, Inc. utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) only as a supportive tool for its public safety and law enforcement-focused solutions. We do not deploy generative AI, AI models trained on scraped biometric images, or AI systems designed for mass surveillance or profiling.

Our AI usage is exclusively limited to agentic AI performing:

  • Facial comparison (not recognition) for investigative alerts.
  • Similarity scoring for law enforcement and investigatory purposes.
  • Automated background check notifications within the eMotive system.

Key Safeguards:

  • No Generative AI: Biometrica does not use generative AI models (e.g., deep learning models generating new synthetic images or profiles).
  • No Facial Recognition Database: Biometrica does not retain, access, or store biometric identifiers or templates (faceprints, embeddings, etc.).
  • Third-Party Isolated Comparison: All facial comparisons are performed by an independent, NIST-evaluated, and approved third-party provider operating within a secure and isolated black box environment.
  • Human Oversight (“Human-in-the-loop”): Every AI-assisted match is reviewed by a trained human analyst before any actionable alert is issued.
  • No Mass Surveillance: Biometrica does not operate video surveillance systems, retain footage, or indiscriminately monitor individuals.
  • GDPR & AI Act Compliance: Biometrica’s AI usage is consistent with Articles 5, 6, 9, and 22 of the GDPR and adheres to the EU AI Act’s requirements for high-risk AI systems, including transparency, auditability, human oversight, and proportionality.
  • UK DPA 2018 Compliance: Our systems meet the UK Data Protection Act 2018 standards, including lawful basis requirements, privacy by design, and data minimization.

Biometrica’s AI is strictly a public safety tool with:

  • Legally permissible purposes only.
  • No profiling, scoring, or categorization of individuals beyond legitimate public safety and investigatory objectives.
  • UMbRA use is limited to credentialed law enforcement, security professionals, or entities with statutory investigatory obligations.
